School Safety
At Payette School District, the safety and well-being of our learners, staff, and visitors is our highest priority. We are committed to maintaining safe, supportive, and secure learning environments where every learner can focus on learning, growth, and success.
School safety is a shared responsibility involving our schools, families, community partners, and local emergency responders. Through proactive planning, ongoing training, and strong relationships, we work every day to ensure our schools remain safe places for all.
Emergency Preparedness
Each school within Payette School District maintains a comprehensive emergency response plan designed to address a variety of situations, including:
- Fire emergencies
- Medical emergencies
- Hazardous material incidents
- Intruder or lockdown situations
- Evacuations and reunification procedures
Our emergency plans are developed in collaboration with local law enforcement, fire departments, emergency management personnel, and other community agencies. Plans are reviewed regularly and updated as needed to align with current safety practices and district procedures.
The district also conducts regular safety drills throughout the school year to help ensure learners and staff are prepared to respond appropriately during emergencies.
Safe and Supportive Schools
Creating safe schools goes beyond emergency response. Payette School District is committed to fostering positive school cultures where learners feel connected, respected, and supported.

Visitor Procedures
To help maintain secure campuses:
- All visitors must check in through the main office during school hours
- Visitors may be required to present identification
- Exterior doors remain secured during the instructional day
- Staff actively monitor school grounds and entrances
We ask all families and community members to partner with us in supporting safe school practices.
Communication During Emergencies
In the event of a school emergency, Payette School District will communicate with families as quickly and accurately as possible through district communication systems, including:

Families are encouraged to ensure contact information remains current within Infinite Campus to receive timely notifications.
Reporting Safety Concerns
We encourage learners, families, staff, and community members to report any safety concerns promptly. Early communication helps us respond proactively and maintain safe learning environments.
